PROMOTIONS & PARTNERSHIPS

Girl Scouts of the U.S.A

Girl Scouts can earn the "Get With the Land" patch by hosting or participating in a 2008 National Trails Day® event. Visit the Girl Scout website for criteria on how to earn the patch http://girlscouts.org and to order your patches http://goshop.girlscouts.org today.

Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. (GSUSA) http://www.girlscouts.org helps build girls of courage, confidence and character who help make the world a better place. There are 3.6 million girl and adult members throughout the United States, including U.S. territories, and in more than 90 countries through USA Girl Scouts Overseas. As part of the Girl Scout Law, girls pledge to do their best "to use resources wisely." Girl Scout outdoor and environmental programs such as Linking Girls to the Land http://www.epa.gov help girls become leaders of national and local conservation projects focused on environmental education, volunteer service, outdoor skills development, and career exploration.

Attention Event Hosts!

Attract more volunteers and participants to your National Trails Day event than ever before by taking advantage of this terrific free offer. After registering your NTD event on American Hiking’s website, you’ll be able to enter additional information on a special webpage within Backpacker.com. The welcome page on this site provides necessary information for getting started and helps you create an ‘event trip’ for your NTD event using Trimble Outdoors technology. Your NTD ‘event trip’ will be tagged “National Trails Day®” and will include your organization’s name and description of your NTD event.

Subsequently, your NTD event listing on American Hiking Society’s website will have a link to your ‘event trip’ listing on Backpacker.com, encouraging American Hiking website visitors to access your NTD ‘event trip’ with interactive maps and event pictures.
After NTD, ‘event trips’ will remain live on the special Backpacker/Trimble website, enabling you to update your ‘event trip’ with pictures and notes taken during the event.
Attention NTD Participants!
Take a look at a NTD event you are interested in attending. If that event host has taken advantage of this special opportunity, there will be a link at the bottom of their event listing that will take you to interactive maps and pictures of the event location. Check back after NTD for an event re-cap and to view pictures from the day of the event.
